...and some of you have even taken advantage of my new 'toy.' For everyone else, I'm opening the doors up.

Ye Old Mental Landfill is a forum I've set up to try and bring back some of the old AFR community feeling that blogging does not provide. It's for fun and socializing, not restricted to faire or anything else, really. Just to have a good time with. So, come on over, register, and start things up. :>

"Ask me seven questions. Not just any seven questions though. No, to keep it interesting, use the seven questions as per below - just copy and paste the following, replace the blanks with something you want to know/ask (e.g. 4. Donkeys or sandcastles and why?), anything you want, personal, silly, surreal or deep, comment away and I'll answer honestly as I can! Then post this in your own LJ and see what kind of things people want to ask you."

1. What do you think of _____________ ?

2. When did you last ____________?

3. __________ or ___________ and why?

4. What did you ______________?

5. What's your favorite ______________?

6. How would you ______________?

7. Who would you most like to ________ ?

As my last post mentioned, I'll be heading down South next weekend, instead of being here for Tulare Faire. As Toots will be working a wedding Saturday, I've got a largely free day. So, I thought I'd see about going to Southern for the day. So, which of my friends are going to be there? Is there any chance that one of them has a comp ticket I might beg off them?

...and that of many other people I know, this deserves mentioning:
Gary Gygax passed away.
I gave up D&D years ago, moving on to other RPGs, but I spent about 10 years playing it before that. I got to meet him at a con once. Seriously geeky, but a nice enough guy.

IF YOU'RE ON MY FRIENDS LIST, I want to know 36 things about you. I don't care if we never talk, or if we already know everything about each other. Short and sweet is fine...You're on my list, so I want to know you better!

BE HONEST! COPY FROM HERE, THEN SEND DIRECTLY TO ME IN A COMMENT, THEN REPOST THE EMPTY QUESTIONS.

Well, the weekend came and went. We did the Disneyland thing for Toots' birthday and had an excellent time. She got to squee all over the place, see fireworks, and be generally amused that I can hang with her female friends. :> Oh, and her records of running into clients at Disneyland, still stands.

The short notice didn't allow for much in the way of seeing friends, but I got to see a couple. And that was good. My current plan is to head back down there weekend after this, and go to Southern Faire on Saturday and hang out with friends on Sunday. I may need some assistance showing a cute woman in need of adventure a good time. *Hint Hint* We'll see how the plans for that work out, and if we scare her too much this weekend... *sniquer*

Speaking of which... Wheee!! Tulare Faire! Kerry, Mark'n'Kat, Capi, Queen Maggie! Huzzah!
So, the poll seems to have decided that I should stick with Smurf Juice. I can do that. :>

...and it occured to me that Rene Magritte might be a good source for something to twist into an icon or two. Well, I ran across an image of his painting "Voice of Space". That kicked off a whole different idea. This is the result.

1. Take the lyrics to a favorite song.
2. Go to Google Language Tools, tranlate the lyrics into German, then from German to French, and finally from French back into English.
3. Post the results verbatim.
4. Invite friends to guess the song based on the interesting new lyrics.

I have discovered that GroupWise, (Novell's email client), has a very interesting spellchecker. When confronted with the name 'Jeri' it's first suggestion of a correct spelling was "Jedi".

The Slogan Generator was quite kind to me. It offered up two bits of humor:
"You Can Really Taste The Cyberkender!"
"Better Living Through Cyberkender."

Anyone happen to remember the slogan for CK1 cologne?

Looking for something new to try your culinary hand at? I've got a suggestion: I found this recipie for Chicken Francese and decided it looked tasty. Made it last night, and it went over very well. Sever with a green salad and some penne that I tossed with a little bit of sauteed garlic, onion, and tomato. Yummy!
